Track Name: World Out There
Log off. iTuned out. Look out the window.
I got up to spread out in that sunny warm glow.
I woke up, and got up from that chair to see the world out there
There's a world out there.
There's a man talking in my ear
But he's miles away from here
Looking up from my screen, I have seen
There's a world out there.
There's a world out there.
They said technology would make life fun
—but what's the point if you haven't even got one?
I watch my world turn lonely and gray
But deluded I don't have to face another day
I've got nobody and that's just not fair
Considering the fact that there's a mother-fucking world out there.
Turn off, unplug, go feel the weather
It's cold out there, go grab a sweater
The further out the door you go,
Your stupid little life keeps getting better and better
The water's fine come in and join me
It's not so bad, just take it easy
Take a breath of that sweet fresh air
And see the world out there.
There's a world out there.
There's a world out there.
Track Name: If We Never Try
Beautiful girl sitting all alone at a table
I wanna say hi, but I don't know if I'm gonna be able
I've been here before— I was looking for more
And she's way too pretty to be sitting alone.
Yeah she's way too pretty to be sitting alone
Well maybe she's been waiting for someone
And maybe tonight that someone is me.
My heart starts racing
And I have to pee
But I'll never know if I never see
No I'll never know if I never see
(See) This Boy at a bar staring at a girl at a table
I look in her eyes and find myself surprisingly stable
As I get up, and I grab my cup
I see she's talking to her waiter, so I won't interrupt
Yeah she's talking to her waiter, so I won't interrupt
Well she just sits and stares at her phone
wondering how she ended up alone
Well maybe it's that she's a bitch
And she knows she's pretty and she's out of my league
At least she thinks she's pretty and she's out of my league
But she's a beautiful girl sitting there and waiting for action
We haven't met yet, but I've never felt this kind of attraction
I'm gonna introduce myself. gonna take that girl down off her shelf
and tell her "you're way too pretty to be sitting alone, yeah you're way too pretty to be sitting alone" well—
Well maybe she's been waiting for someone
And maybe tonight that someone is me.
My heart starts racing
And I have to pee
But I'll never know if I never see
No I'll never know if I never see
This beautiful girl sitting all alone for some reason
And I'm a pretty good guy but then again it's been a pretty dry season
Beautiful girl
and an OK guy
Hey, we'll never know if we never try
No we'll never know if we never try
with that beautiful girl sitting all alone at a table
She's a beautiful girl sitting all alone at a table
Remember: she's a beautiful girl
but she's sitting all alone.
Track Name: What Beth Left
Cold words, cold words. I keep 'em fresh to serve you in the morning.
Right next to the eggs in our refrigerator.
You know, Beth you left the fridge open again,
and now a draft is blowing in
Your shoulder's getting cold, and this is getting old, but
Beth you left the fridge open again.
The pantry light is on, the freezer's open too
The high flame on the stove puts danger around you
But breakfast is the most important bribe of the day
Everybody put the past away.
Hot temper, hot temper. Not to close my dear or you could burn your finger
Right next to the bacon frying on the stove.
You know, Beth you left the fire on again.
Just trying to keep you safe my friend.
Now things are getting heated. I'm to upset to eat it.
Beth you left the fire on again.
The pantry light is on, the freezer's open too
the high flame on the stove puts danger around you
I hate to leave this kitchen in such disarray.
Would everybody put the past away?
"With every meal I serve, I'm saying that I love you.
Each bite you take you know you take a bite of me
How else can I give you all that you deserve?
Just accept the (mood/food) I serve."
Left overs. What's left over? Take some old junk and heat it up for dinner
Into the microwave, come right out of the freezer:
Are you sure you want to heat those up again?
Do you think we're good to start from scratch again?
Oh no. Beth you left the fire on again.
Track Name: It Takes a Lot
Mud on both my shoes. I'm leaving town. How does that sound?
Don't look so confused. What is that frown? Stop looking down.
It takes a lot of time to see what's left behind you and understand it's there for your own good
It takes a lot of thinking things through over and over
until you know
that was the show
just let it go.
It takes a lot of time.
Sunk down in the blues
Another shot. Before I rot.
Drinking down the news.
This tortured spot—it's all I've got
It takes a lot pain to realize you're not wanted
A room of faceless faces says "you're not welcome here"
it takes a lot of guts to say "I think I might be too big for this shell"
And escape this living hell.
It takes a lot.
Track Name: Circle In the Sky
I know the sun's gone down and the day is done.
The runner's run his last lap on the track.
He'd been run round and round from the bang of a gun.
Tomorrow he's not coming back. You know
Every cowboy looks up at the moon, dazzled by its yellow glow
Softly sighing, "Well how should I have known
where the moon goes at the end of the night?"
Two teenage lovers meet on a mountain top
And they both point to that circle in the sky.
Beneath their covers, sheets, the motion stops
And they start to look each other in the eye. You know
Teens in Paris will kiss by the moon, dazzled by its yellow glow
Softly sighing," Well how should I have known
where the moon goes at the end of the night?"
Traveling warriors will fight for the moon
Taking back whats clearly theirs.
Endless crying, "Well how should they have known
where the moon had come from earlier that night?"
So now you've got samurai killing cowboys in the west,
A broken promise come too soon
Lovers dying to find to their chagrin that
An astronaut had landed on the moon.
Track Name: Since You Died
Since you died planes still fly
And since you died children go to school.
And grown-ups go to work and do their jobs since you died
Since you died dreams stilly et dreamed
The counter at the diner still gets cleaned.
The sun comes up, It's all the same it seems.
Since you died people fell in love
And since you died they climbed back out again
But butterflies they flap their wings
And research shows this changes things
Like what tomorrow really brings for me.
but since you died the change is hard to see
Here on Earth
Life's the same
So, what's it worth
If folks won't remember your name since you died?
You know, since you died
jerks are still jerks.
It's quite a shame, but that's just how it works
It's just not fair. Just like before, those people
Still don't care about their lives
but since you died
That little girl sits all alone and cries.
Track Name: The Bad Man
No way to escape your fate.
Trying not to suffocate.
Never felt so weak and small.
Crying— he's an animal.
You're crushed beneath his clutches, looks like now you're out of luck
When he turns his back a second, you can get yourself unstuck
But can you run from the bad man as he tracks you through the snow
If you hide in the forrest, how far can you go?
Can you run? Can you run from the bad man
Grinning, walking, breathing slow,
He knows exactly where you'll go
Panting fearing for you life
When did he pick up that knife?
You stop for just a second
Just to catch your breath
Though invisible to you the man stands inches from your death
Will you run from the bad man 'til he haunts you in your dreams?
WIll you be so naive to think that all is as it seems?
You can can run. You can run from the bad man.
Intense remorse engulfs you for the secrets that you kept
And a bitter tear reminds you that he follows in your steps
You look around—you're safe and sound until you reach the empty town.
You're the last one on his list. You're the first thing on his mind.
Hear some footsteps and a gunshot. It appears your out of time
Be afraid of the bad man he will track you through the snow
If you hide in the forrest, he know where you'll go.
You can run. You can run from the bad man.
You can run.
Track Name: Dystopia/ Indifferent Drummers
We sang songs about love, love, love, watching weather and a death toll.
Said that we'd had enough of warring countries in a wild world
Struck a chord against the sword.
Now society's fine. I'm living half my life in my own mind,
safe and sound, on the ground, picking pennies pound for pound.
We are marching to the idle beats of indifferent drummers.
Big brother says that I'm still free, so nothing's worrying me.

But the war rages on and on, strumming strings against a gunman.
We take all of our pills for thrills, so I can keep on having fun, man.
We got bored, so we soared.
Now society's kind. I'm living half my life in my own mind
safe and sound, underground, spending copper like it's brown.
We've fallen pray to the illusion of expendable summers.
Big brother says we've all got time, but I don't know.
What if big brother's lying?

We've sedated the whole nation.
Yeah but I'm picking up good vibrations.
Deception causes pain.
Well, I've seen fire and I've seen rain.
But doesn't it get you frustrated?
Fuck no, I want to be sedated.

That's why society's blind, and living half its life in its own mind
It's a dream. It's obscene. All I know is
On that screen, we're intelligent life told that we are better off dumber.
I say we're marching to the idle beats of indifferent drummers.
Yeah, we're marching to the idle beats of indifferent drummers.
